Ms. Allen has taught for over seventeen years in grades K-4.  She joined St. Michael’s in 2007 and is proud to be a part of such an amazing learning community.  As a devoted practitioner of yoga, Ms. Allen has learned to approach life and teaching with a sense of calm, love, and patience.  It is such a joy for her to spend each day at work guiding and supporting her students’ unique learning styles.  She enjoys developing creative and fresh ways to teach core subjects.   Ms. Allen believes her job is to engage the children in her classroom and to make school a safe, interesting, and dynamic place.

Ms. Allen has both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Arizona, where she graduated Cum Laude and wrote a thesis on developing an inquiry-based curriculum within the elementary classroom.   She is an avid Wildcat fan and loves animals.  Her menagerie includes a dog and two cats.  She enjoys swimming, practicing yoga, laughing, watching movies and being a mom to her awesome kids, Cooper (15) and Lilly (13).

Anthony Antista

A native of Southern California, Dr. Antista attended California State University at Fullerton where he received a Bachelors degree and a Masters Degree in Voice Performance and has also earned a DMA in Voice Performance and Opera Directing from the University of Arizona. Before moving to Arizona with his wife, Tracey, and their three children, Joel, Andrew, and Rachel, Dr. Antista performed many operatic and musical theater roles around the Southern California area. Tony has performed with the Los Angeles Opera, Opera Pacific, San Diego Opera, Orange County Opera, Inland Opera, Opera Works, and many civic theaters in the area. His teaching experience ranges from teaching and directing music with young people ages K-8, to directing operas at the University of Arizona, California State University at Fullerton, and California Baptist University.

Darcy Brooks

Darcy Brooks

Mrs. Brooks began her career teaching fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in Chandler and Tucson, and later in San Francisco, and Belmont, California.  She was at home for ten years with two sons and returned to teaching in Vail, Arizona, when both sons were in school.  She came to St. Michael's in 1983 to teach first grade, and she remained there for three years followed by 18 years of public school teaching in the Marana District.  Retirement was a reality for just a year and a half, when she accepted a position as a third grade teacher mid-year at St. Michael's.  She has remained at St. Michael's in either full time or part time positions since then.

She is a lifelong learner, an avid reader, and enjoys spending time researching her family's ancestors.  Travel, hiking, biking and spending time with family are also leisure time activities.

After 15 years in sports management and marketing, Mrs. Clements decided to pursue a career in teaching as a result of spending time volunteering in her son's elementary school classrooms.  After teaching 4th grade for many years, Mrs. Clements is enjoying teaching 2nd grade.  In addition to spending time with her husband Bobby and son, Tyler, she enjoys all outdoor activities, especially hiking in Sabino Canyon, swimming, and running with her two dogs.

Barbara Faltico

Mrs. Faltico began her teaching career in Minnesota as a first and second grade teacher. She left education for several years and worked in the computer field as a consultant and trainer in California. In 1993 she joined the faculty at St. Michael's, where she taught kindergarten for one year, first grade for four years, and now teaches art and music to kindergarten, first, second and third grades. Mrs. Faltico acted as Primary Division Coordinator for ten years and Supervisor for the Extended Day Care. She is a member of both the National Art and Music Association. Mrs. Faltico also enjoys outdoor activities with her family, as well as music, art, cooking, gardening, hiking and reading.

Mrs. Fenstermacher joined St. Michael's in 2016. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from Illinois State University. After graduation she taught for over 25 years at several schools in the Chicago suburbs. Mrs. Fenstermacher has experience teaching math, reading, and language arts. Since moving to Tucson, she taught at the Gregory School and has tutored. In her spare time she enjoys landscape design, gardening, and reading.

Ms. Garcia began her career at St. Michael's in 1987. She taught physical education while her children attended school here. She was concurrently pursuing her B.A. and teaching certification. After graduation, Ms. Garcia taught 3rd and 4th grades until 2014  She is now one of our 5th grade teachers. Ms. Garcia also serves as Professional Development Coordinator. Besides being a life-long learner, Ms. Garcia loves to travel, read, entertain, and spend time with family and friends.

Mrs. Greene joined St. Michael's in 2014 as a Kindergarten aide. A native of Northern California, Coach Greene attended the University of Arizona on a full athletic scholarship to play basketball. She has been the head girls' basketball coach at St. Michael's since 2012 and has also coached intramural soccer and football. She became Athletic Director in 2016. Mrs. Greene has been married to her husband, Michael, since 2001. They have two children, Madeline and Jack.

Angela Greynolds began teaching middle school Spanish and band at St. Michael's in 2006. Currently she is the Director of Technology and the Band Director. Ms. Greynolds co-directs the summer camp, "Music, Motion & Media" and is the webmaster for the Arizona Music Educators Association. She is also a member of the International Society for Technology in Education. When not teaching, Ms. Greynolds enjoys trail running, traveling, learning new languages, and reading.

Ms. Hart grew up in Tucson and attended the University of Arizona (B.A. in Elementary Education) and Northern Arizona University (M.Ed. Educational Leadership). She holds endorsements in Early Childhood Education (ECE) as well as Structured English Immersion (SEI). As a certified teacher for the last fourteen years, her experiences have included teaching positions in Kindergarten, arts integration, and public safety.  Ms. Hart enjoys playing soccer, traveling, writing, spending time with family and friends, and attending U of A basketball and football games. Penelope Hayward

Ms. Hayward grew up in Barre, Vermont. She attended the University of Vermont, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Behavioral Science. In 1983 she moved to Tucson. Ms. Hayward taught at Abbie Loveland Tuller Episcopal School for the next fourteen years, gathering experience in many grades, including kindergarten, fourth, sixth, and eighth. Ms. Hayward joined the staff at St. Michael's in 1998. She is presentlya fifth grade teacher and the school calendar coordinator. Ms. Hayward is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and was chosen in 2005 and 2006 for Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Ms. Hayward enjoys spending her free time with her two children: Derek, a 2002 graduate of St. Michael's, and Brittany, a 2008 graduate of St. Michael's. She is a huge baseball fan, and her favorite team is the New York Yankees. She also enjoys yoga, reading, swimming, and walking.

Lisa Jamison

Mrs. Jamison joined St. Michael's in 2015. Prior to that, she taught for fourteen years in the Tucson Unified School District. Her passion is science, so the opportunity to teach Elementary Science at St. Michael's was a perfect fit. Growing up in Tucson gave her a love of the Sonoran Desert and all of its creatures and hidden treasures. Her mom had to drag her out of the dry river bed behind her house for dinner, for she'd much rather be digging for magnetite or playing under a shady creosote bush. She is a proud Salpointe graduate and current president of their Alumni Council. When she's not wearing maroon and gold to support the Lancers, you can spot her in red and blue cheering her beloved U of A Wildcats. Mrs. Jamison teaches first grade catechism at St. Thomas the Apostle and in her "spare" time enjoys knitting, cooking, and entertaining with friends and family. She is married to Paul and has a son, Orion, who lives in San Diego, as well as Lauren, her "bonus" daughter. Although now an empty nester, Mrs. Jamison has one dog, Luna, who keeps her quite occupied.

Mrs. Martin has been working as an aide in the Kindergarten classroom since 2005. She has a daughter, Gina, and two sons, Ryan and Brandon, who are St. Michael's alumni.  Before coming to St. Michael's, Mrs. Martin was Vice President of Martin Feise Chiropractic until her husband, Jeff, retired.  She is originally from the Buffalo, New York, area and taught second grade until she moved to Tucson in 1983.

Ms. Monsma came to Arizona in 1999 from Minnesota for graduate studies and promptly fell in love with the climate, the scenery, and the wonderful people. She and her two greyhounds, Ruby and Sheba, love to explore all Arizona has to offer. Ms. Monsma has been happily teaching art and art history to K-12 students since 2002. She joined the faculty at St. Michael's in 2007. She finds it is a joy to guide students as they explore new media, gain skills, and discover their own unique creative potential. For her own creative outlet, Ms. Monsma makes dolls, knits, and she continues to explore printmaking and painting.

Stephanie Moseley

Mrs. Moseley is very excited to be part of the St. Michael's community. She has worked in the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Tucson Unified School District and at private elementary schools, teaching  4th grade, Kindergarten and, her favorite, First Grade.  She has two children. Max is a St. Michael's alumni, and Katie, a current St. Michael's student. She loves spending time with her family, reading, watching movies, attending U of A basketball games and taking care of their menagerie of pets. She is looking forward to many rewarding years at St. Michael's.

Mary Redhouse

Mary Redhouse

Ms.  Redhouse is a Native American Music Awardee and 2005 Grammy Nominee for the Canyon Records release People of Peace CD with the R. Carlos Nakai Quartet.  She has toured in Denmark, Canada, and the U.S. East Coast with Oliver Lake.  She toured 17 states, full-time, in the hotel circuit performing a variety music.  She continues to perform as a soloist or with Canyon Records' William Eaton Ensemble, jazz saxophonist/composer Oliver Lake, the Redhouse Family Jazz Band, and The Redhouse Dancers (Native American dance group).  She is a versatile improvisational vocalist who also plays electric bass, guitar, Native flute and keyboard.

Ms. Redhouse has produced music for many documentaries for PBS affiliate KUAT-TV, most recently "Seeking Water from the Sun." She created the soundtrack for Tucson Regional Ballet's "Why Butterflies Fly Crazy" production. She was the radio host for 91.3 FM KXCI's "Native American Hour" many years ago.

Ms. Redhouse incorporates her unique musical background and hands-on concept of differentiated instruction in her teaching approach.  Ms. Rehouse has vast and diverse teaching experience.  She has taught (K-4) Spanish and General Music at Collier Elementary,  Spanish (PreK-3) at Veritas Academy, Spanish and General Music at St. Joseph Catholic School, and  (K-8) General Music at San Xavier Mission Indian School.

Laura Sanders grew up in Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado and received a BA in psychology and a teacher certification for K-8. Mrs. Sanders has taught Kindergarten for sixteen years. She enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family. She is married and has three daughters, who have all graduated from St. Michael's. She is happy to once again teach Kindergarten at St Michael's, the school community that always makes her feel at home.

Mr. Santucci has taught at St. Michael's since 2007. He previously spent a year as an intern in special education while completing his Master's degree coursework. After finishing his student teaching at a fifth-grade classroom in Connecticut, Mr. Santucci moved to Tucson to become the physical education teacher for grades K-5 in the spring of 2007. He then moved grades 4-8 in 2016.  He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles and USA soccer.

Sandra Schultz

Mrs. Schultz has taught in public and private schools in Ohio, Colorado, and Arizona. She has also held positions as area manager and administrator for a private school organization, and served as an educational consultant. She loves the beauty of the St. Michael's campus, the dedication of the faculty, the support of the parents, and the enthusiasm of the children. Mrs. Schultz leads the curriculum development and implementation team at St. Michael's and is currently the Director of the Lower School. She is a member of the Tucson Reading Council, the American Association of Curriculum Development, and Phi Beta. She enjoys walking, gardening, and travel.

Mrs. Stalkfleet taught for ten years before coming to St. Michael's in 2001. She has experience in grades kindergarten through sixth. In addition to being a classroom teacher, she has organized school science fairs, started a school garden, coordinated recycling and composting, chaired fundraisers, and was a Girl Scout troop leader. She loves the dedication and professionalism of the faculty at St. Michael's, the enthusiasm of the students, and the support and involvement of the families.

Sara Van Straalen

Sra. Van Straalen grew up in Chino, California.  Along with her teaching credential in Elementary Education, she has also earned the Bilingual Cross-Cultural credential, which focuses primarily on Spanish language and culture.  Before moving to Tucson in 2002, Sra. Van Straalen had fourteen years of experience as a bilingual elementary teacher working with students whose native language was Spanish, .  She has enjoyed teaching at St. Michael's since 2005 and is currently teaching Spanish to grades 4-8.  She is the mother of Claire, a 2013 St .Michael's graduate, and Franklin, who is currently a St. Michael's middle school student.  Sra. Van Straalen also enjoys hiking, reading Spanish novels, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Tomiak has had a varied working career to prepare her for teaching. She relocated to Pennsylvania from Toronto, Canada and was employed as an Educational Assistant with the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.  At that time, she was studying for her Master's and teaching certification.  She taught for ten years with the Catalina Foothills School District in second and third grade.  Mrs. Tomiak also taught English Language Learners in CFSD for one year.    Mrs. Tomiak enjoys cooking, traveling, Zumba and reading.

Clare Yarborough

Mother Clare spent her early professional life earning a doctorate in Anthropology at the University of Arizona. Her dissertation was based on fieldwork in Veracruz, Mexico where she studied Classic period influence from the Valley of Mexico. After her defense, she took a year off to be an intern at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church and from there discerned a call to the ordained ministry. Upon finishing her seminary work, she was ordained a priest and served as an assistant in charge of youth and family ministry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Rochester, NY. After that appointment, she served several churches in the Diocese of Massachusetts, while continuing to be active in the ministry of family, youth, and children. Returning to Tucson, she served as Associate for Family and Seeker ministries at St. Philip's In the Hills for a brief period of time before coming to St. Michael's as chaplain and religion teacher for Intermediate and Middle School grades. In her free time, Mother Clare volunteers at The Hermitage Cat Shelter and also spends time cooking, reading, and enjoying time with her family.

Toni Zlaket

Toni Zlaket

Mrs. Zlaket joined the St. Michael's staff in 2014.  She previously worked in a private elementary school for ten years, teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade.  She is thrilled to be teaching first grade again as part of this warm and welcoming community.

She is married to her best friend, Tom, and has three children: Geoff, Andrew, and Caroline.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, cooking, running a summer camp for kids, swimming, reading, and watching college sports.
